Overview

Fretfire is a macOS desktop application. We believe in minimal data collection — the app itself collects no telemetry, sends no data to our servers, and requires no user account.

This policy covers the Fretfire application, the fretfire.app website, and the third-party services we use for payments and email communications.

Data We Do Not Collect

The Fretfire app runs entirely on your Mac. No audio files, chord data, usage statistics, or personal information are ever transmitted from the app to us or any third party (other than license key validation — see below).

Website Analytics

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics solution. It is cookieless, does not track individual visitors across sites, and does not collect personal data. No consent banner is required.

Payment Processing

Purchases of Fretfire Pro are processed by LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record. LemonSqueezy collects the information necessary to complete your purchase — including your name, email address, billing address, and payment method.

We do not store or have access to your full payment card details. LemonSqueezy may set cookies during the checkout process in accordance with their own privacy policy.

License Keys

When you purchase Fretfire Pro, LemonSqueezy generates a license key and emails it to you. When you activate the app, it validates your key against LemonSqueezy's API. This validation transmits only your license key and an anonymous machine identifier — no personal data is included.

Each license key permits activation on up to 3 machines you own or control.

Email Communications

If you sign up for our LED board waitlist, your email address is collected and managed by Buttondown. We use this address solely to notify you about the Fretfire LED Board launch. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.

Third-Party Services Summary

Data Retention

Your email address is retained in the Buttondown mailing list until you unsubscribe. Payment and license records are retained by LemonSqueezy in accordance with their data retention policy and applicable tax regulations.
